I know this isn't a fix all, but it's something. Of course this will only work for files that you plan on keeping put on your desktop and isn't a great solution if your shuffling stuff around a lot, but for me, the files in the screen shot I included are ones that I use frequently and are going to stay there. Using the third-party apps can let you install and add new font styles to change the system-wide fonts. I would recommend a better workaround, however.
There are now better methods in SQLPlus to do this. In th past I have use ansi.sys and set SQLPlus to output ansi so UI could get color. There is a possibility that this can be made to work.
